Terms of Use

These terms are a contract between you and Van Ruby (Pty) Ltd, trading as J Live Solutions ("we", "us"). J Live Solutions is based in Musgrave, Durban, South Africa. Email: info@jlivesolutions.co.za.

They cover the JobSeek CV builder at jobseek.vanrubylabs.co.za. The Privacy Notice sits beside these terms and explains personal information. If you do not agree to both, do not create an account.

The service

JobSeek helps you write a CV, keep it up to date, and look for work in a careful way. You answer questions, pick a design, and download a PDF. Paid plans can also include a Word file and other tools described below.

We do not list jobs inside the app. Buttons may open another site, such as a job board or a government page, in a new tab. We do not fetch or store that site's listings.

We do not apply for jobs for you. We never send your CV to an employer, a recruiter, or a job site. You download the file and you send it yourself.

Guides, the scam checklist, advert tailoring, and interview prompts are guidance. Read "No promise of a job" below.

Accounts

  • Give a real email address that you can open. It is how we reach you.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on the account while you are signed in.
  • One person uses one account. Do not share the login.
  • You must be 18 or older. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and to the Privacy Notice, and they must deal with us about the account.
  • You can export your information or delete the account from Settings. Deletion is described in the Privacy Notice.

At sign-up you agree to these terms and the Privacy Notice. That agreement is stored with the version of the text you saw. Uploads, reminder emails, and the waitlist each have their own box. We do not tick those for you.

Acceptable use

You agree that you will:

  • Put only true information in your CV. Do not invent a job, a qualification, or a skill.
  • Upload only files you have the right to store. Do not upload someone else's personal information unless you are allowed to.
  • Keep viruses and harmful files off the service.
  • Leave other people's accounts and files alone.
  • Not scrape the site, probe it for weaknesses, or overload it.
  • Not use JobSeek to break South African law.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. If we can, we will email you first. We may act first if the account is being used to harm someone else.

Plans and prices

The figures in these terms are the variables R99, R179 and R49. The live site fills them in from its price configuration. There is no automatic renewal.

Free. Costs nothing. You can preview the designs, use the guides, the links, and the tracker, and download one watermarked PDF of each CV version. The footer states that it was made with the free version. The free plan does not include a Word file.

Basic. A once-off payment of R99. It includes 12 months of updates, a clean PDF, a Word file, all designs, and one cover letter a month.

Pro. A once-off payment of R179 for 12 months. It includes everything in Basic, plus unlimited advert-tailored versions and cover letters, a place to keep certificate files, and reminder emails (still only if you opt in).

Renewal. R49 for another 12 months. You pay it only if you choose to. We do not store a recurring card payment and we do not renew the plan for you.

While a paid plan is active you can download clean files again. When the 12 months end, the last clean PDFs stay available to download, and editing stops until you renew.

If card payment is not open, paid plans are shown as coming soon. We will not charge you until payment is open and you choose to pay. A receipt for a card payment is issued in the name of Van Ruby (Pty) Ltd.

Pack-buyer access will be explained here when claims open.

Refunds

Placeholder for the owner to confirm before paid plans go on sale.

If you email info@jlivesolutions.co.za within 7 days of paying, and you have not downloaded a clean PDF or Word file, we will refund the amount you paid. A watermarked free PDF does not count as that download.

The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 may give you other rights, including cooling-off rights in some direct-marketing or online purchases. Those Acts apply where the law says they apply. Nothing in this placeholder removes a right the Acts give you.

This paragraph is a house rule we have written so the page is not silent. It is not legal advice, and it is waiting for the owner's review before anyone can buy a paid plan.

Your content

You own the text and files you put into JobSeek. You give us permission to store them and to turn them into your CV, cover letter, and export, only so we can provide the service. That permission ends when you delete the content or the account, except for the backup period and the tax record described in the Privacy Notice.

We do not claim copyright in your life history. The designs, the software, the guides we wrote, and the JobSeek name stay ours. You may use the PDF and Word file you downloaded for your own job search.

No promise of a job

JobSeek does not guarantee a job, an interview, or a reply from an employer. A strong CV can still be rejected. Tailoring, keyword lists, scam flags, and the guides are guidance only. They can miss something or flag something that is harmless. You decide what to write, what to send, and where to apply. We do not check that an employer is genuine beyond the checklist on the page.

The line on the review screen is part of the product: we only use what you entered. We do not invent experience.

Liability

We provide JobSeek with reasonable care. We are not liable for a job you do not get, for a mistake you leave in your CV, for a decision an employer makes, or for what happens on a website you open from a link.

South African law limits what a contract can exclude. We do not exclude liability for gross negligence or fraud, and we do not exclude a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act that the Act says we cannot sign away. We have not set a rand limit in these terms. Whether a limit is fair, and what it should be, has to be settled before paid plans go on sale.

The law that applies

The law of South Africa applies. The courts of South Africa can hear a dispute about these terms.

Changes

If we change these terms, we will update this page and the effective date, 26 October 2026. If you have an account and the change is important, we will email you. Where the law requires it, we will ask you to agree to the new text before you continue. The version you already accepted stays on your consent record.
